Financial Controller Extraordinaire  

Our commercially focused law firm is growing and we need an experienced financial controller and manager.

This role is available as either part time employment or periodic contract work throughout the year. We’re happy to be flexible for the right person with the right skills and attitude. If you’re considering a return to the workforce or stepping back from a full time position, this could be just what you’re looking for.

The key attributes we are looking for are:

  • A sharp financial brain with a clear ability to apply financial principles in the real world of our 15 person law office.

  • Proven expertise in budget setting and cashflow projection and analysis.

  • An ability to liaise with external providers including accountants and banks.

  • Familiarity with lawyers’ trust account rules and operation.

  • A good working knowledge of the systems we use including Xero and Smart Payroll would be a definite advantage.

  • A thoroughly professional approach to service delivery and exceeding expectations.

  • A relaxed and cooperative approach to working in a team.

  • Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks and the varied demands of a small office.

  • Conscientiousness and a good work ethic coupled with a “can do” attitude and focus on deadlines.

  • Unflappable in the face of deadlines and novel work.

Our firm operates in modern central city premises with an open plan layout, a full complement of technology and great support staff to ensure a healthy, efficient and productive work environment. Although engagement in the team environment is important to us, we will consider periods or elements of working remotely for this role.
